Based in the
heart of Angus in Scotland, in a studio overlooked by an
Iron Age Hill Fort and being born and raised in Scotland
with Irish connections on both sides of his family, it was
almost inevitable that a Celtic influence would creep into
Kevin’s music. However, his other musical interests
include ‘Classical’ music from the renaissance to the
21st Century, rock music in all its various forms, folk,
blues, ‘world’ music and sound design., The title song
of his first album Clarinda’s
Reply has been described as “moving and
appropriate” by leading authority on Robert Burns,
Professor Ken Simpson. While his CD Clarinda’s
Reply is one of the few modern artifacts to have been
included in the world famous Ross Roy Collection of Burns
memorabilia held at the University of South Carolina. His
tune The
Lion and The Cross has been suggested as a
potential new Scottish National Anthem on a number of
occasions. Kevin has also produced music for TV and Radio
adverts, Educational CD’s and Historical Documentaries.
He has a Diploma in Media Composition from the Film Music
Institute in Los Angeles and is a member of the British
Academy of Composers and Songwriters
Working with Mike Gibb over the past few years Kevin has
written and performed the music for two musical plays – Sunday Mornings on Dundee Law (2007) and
Clarinda (2008). For

Children of the
Sea, about the Eyemouth Fishing Disaster, Lest We
Forget, commissioned to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Piper Alpha oil disaster, which premiered in Aberdeen in July 2008 and toured Scotland in May 2009, and

Mike has also written three books on a “canine” theme
– It’s A Dawgs
Life, Waiting For The Master and, most recently,

Humans). The proceeds from all three books go directly to

WOW!!
Just listened to the CD, and doubtless you've heard from others that the music and lyrics are quite lovely and representative of the wonderful Gabaldon work. I really don't know why Ms. Gabaldon's story has hit such a resonant chord in so many folks, both in the US and abroad, but it has indeed and you both have brought it to life in a thoroughly enjoyable way! DO bring it live (a show, a musical, or even a live CD performance) to the Yanks sometime, please, in some form! Thank you for sharing the gifts of yours and Kevin's talent w/us.
