FAREWELL

In the shadow of these great stones,
that have stood a thousand years,
It’s time to say our farewells,
And ensure they’re not blighted by our tears.

Though it pains me now to say the words
I know you canna stay,
For another world is calling you , 
And one that lies so far away.

But I am ready, to do what is right,
The time has come, for you to take flight,
And though our parting now will, cause me to grieve,
I am ready, I know, that you must leave.

I prayed all the way up the hill yesterday for the strength to say this to you.  Goodbye Claire. I hope you find happiness

CLAIRE 
Jamie, you could have saved your prayers. I’m not going anywhere

JAMIE
You’re not going back?

CLAIRE 
No.

JAMIE 
And you really mean that?

CLAIRE 
Yes, I do

JAMIE 
Thank God. And God help you lass.

JAMIE 
My heirt is truly gladdened, by the words I hear you say,
Though I’ll never fully understand why you would want to stay,

CLAIRE 
Once I felt I had to go, but I know that I was wrong
For it’s clear that with you, here and NOW, is where I truly do belong
